The pianist graduated with First-class degrees in Pianoforte, Chamber Music, Conducting and Composition. He trained at the “V. Bellini” Conservatoire in Palermo and then went on to attend a post-graduate course in Parma at the “A Boito” Conservatoire where he is currently specialising in Conducting. The musicians who instructed him during his academic training include Roberto Plano and D. Sollima, for solo repertoire; P Maurizzi for his Chamber Music repertory; L.Tessadrelli, E. Ballio, A.M Turcotte and S. Chinca for Counterpoint and Composition; G. Damiani and L. Bonelli for Score-reading and P. Veneri for Conducting. The pianist has attended numerous masterclasses for conducting held by U. Benedetti Michelangeli, M. Guidarini, N. Thomson e H. Leendars; piano masterclasses held by B. Canino, A. Miodini, M.Scalafiotti and N. Delle Vigne and masterclasses for chamber music given by the Trio di Parma, Y. Savary, D.Grassi, F.Oldenburg, R.Heiber, G.J van der Weerd, T. Steinhöfel, G. Sollima, F.M Sardelli, S.Scapucci. Giuseppe Vaccaro began his solo career with the Orchestra OGSS (founded by the pianist himself) in May 2009 performing the piano concerto no.1 op. 18 in C major by L. van Beethoven and as a chamber musician in May 2011 with the Sonata Sz. 110, BB 115 by B. Bartok for two pianos and percussion. The pianist has performed as a soloist, chamber musician and accompanist in various venues. Teatro Politeama Garibaldi (PA), Teatro San Carlino (BS), Teatro Bibiena (MN), Sala Bossi (BO), Sala Verdi (Conservatorio di Milano), Lisztzentrum (Raiding- Vienna), Sala congress Palazzo Unesco (Paris), Auditorium di Lloret de mar (Barcelona), Teatro Regio di Parma (Ridotto), Teatro Alighieri di Ravenna (Ridotto), Oratorio S.F. Neri (Turin), Pinacoteca Stuard (PR), Teatro all’ Antica (Sabbioneta), Teatro Comunale (Casalmaggiore), Auditorium S. Francesco (Sciacca) etc. He was winner of the scholarship “G.Verdi” for composers organised by the associazione Verdissime.com. Winner of a number of national and international competitions, chiefly Chamber Music. Vaccaro is currently a member of the judging panel and accompanist for the competition TIM in Parma, Sommacampagna di Verona and Milan. He has also collaborated with: OSS (PA), Teatro F.Zappalà (PA), Fondazione Teatro Grande (BS), Accademia “I musici di Parma”, Accademia Mediterranea di P. Ballo, Conservatorio “G Martini” (BO), Conservatorio “A. Boito” (PR), The International Music Festival in Casalmaggiore (CR), Associazione “Il Cerchio delle Arti” (Sciacca). From 2015, he has been employed as a teacher of Pianoforte at S.M.I.M (Secondary Music School) in Edolo (BS). In August 2013 Giuseppe Vaccaro performed in Okinawa, Japan in several solo and chamber music concerts with the soprano singer Aoi Yonamine. On 13th June 2014 he made his debut as a conductor with the Orchestra Regionale dell’ Emilia Romagna in Parma. In 2014, the pianist recorded an album entitled “Librazioni”, which included his works for voice and pianoforte. In July 2015 he gave a masterclass in pianoforte and composition at Berceto (PR) for G.A.S. Parma. In the summer 2015 the pianist went on tour in Japan, performing in prestigious venues such as Ingatto Hall (Fukuoko), Akata Gallery Hall (Naha) and various other locations performing the music from “Librazioni” and gave the first ever performance for voice and pianoforte: the disc is being presented in different venues in Italy throughout 2016. Vaccaro is a composer of piano, chamber and symphonic music and has been described as “an example of Sicilian excellence in the world” (D. Ciranni on “Oggimedia.it) He is currently working as pianist and conductor with the soprano Jessica Nuccio and the baritone Simone Piazzola. Giuseppe Vaccaro has won a number of competitions such as the “I Composition Contest for accordion and string quartet – AccordiOnString - PIF at Castelfidardo and “III Composition Contest- Premio Accademia Musicale di Oderzo”.
